Wakeboarding Switch

On a sunny Sunday in February, what else do you do but get out on the water (*BYO friend with boat). Today I'm back on the George's River with Megan and Michael ready for take 2 at wakeboarding.

One small caveat is that they've been practising a bit, which I guess is reasonable given they own the boat and wakeboard, so needless to say they are both a bit more advanced than last time I rode with them.

Today's goal for me was to have a half decent go at riding switch, which I know from snowboarding is not all that easy. I managed to get a few decent runs in changing in and out of switch with varying levels of success, but either way it was a hell of a lot of fun!

The other thing which was kind of cool about today was I had recently purchased a new Garmin Fenix 6X smart watch which let me properly track my wakeboarding activity on strava, and measure the actual speeds and corners which I experienced on the board (rather than from my phone on the boat). Turns out wakeboarding gets kinda fast, with my max speed hitting between 49km/h and 52km/h in each of my 3 runs.

And we even managed to grab a selfie with all 3 of us in it... kind of.
