And so begins my next adventure…
This is the big one, a few years in the dreaming and at
least 6 months in the planning. Today I leave for the Europe trip I’ve been
saying I must do before I’m 30, since I was 20…. nearly 10 years ago.
The itinerary is quite intricate and the actual schedule
hectic, but as an overview I start by flying to London where I get on a 3 week
“European Getaway” Topdeck bus tour. This tour takes me through France,
Switzerland, Monaco, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, Germany and The Netherlands
before returning to London. From there I’ll be visiting a few friends on the
train north to Glasgow, flying to Sweden and catching a train to Denmark. My
Europe trip comes to an end with a visit to Finland to (hopefully) see the
northern lights at Kakslauttanen Artic Resort in Ivalo. The last stop on my 6
week adventure will be in San Francisco to visit my brother, but no trip to the
USA is complete without a brief stopover in NYC!
To say that I’ve been looking forward to this trip is an understatement
to say the least, and now that it is here I am so excited to get on my way! So
excited in fact that despite working all day before my 6pm flight, I barely
manage to sleep on the plane. I’m just. So. EXCITED.
Stop the world…. I’m ready to get on!
